Facebook

http://www.facebook.com has a similar aspect to it's webpage. People are able to send out party invitations, whether it's open and everyone on the page hears about it, or personal and only those invited get the message. This is alot like what i am doing, but my page goes beyond what face book is doing. Facebook only allows college students to access their page, which is great it's their target audience, but i want everyone to be able to use my page. Also on facebooks page it's almost always a frat party. But that is also because of it's audience. People often don't pay attention to this feature, because unless you specifically are invited to the party, the information does not appear on the main page and you have to go and look and see.. and then you have to sort through all the parties to find one you might be interested in.. there's no way to search for common interest parties, or should you go to someones party there is no way to keep tabs on that person should they decide to have another one.

I want to have these things in my webpage, a way to search for certain types of gatherings, and though there could be a 'friend' type button, it would be more of a watch, should you enjoy a party someone else has had the next time the update you will get a message telling you.
