some other party sites

i searched on the internet and the only "party" or "event" finders i could find other then sports team event finders were

The first one (http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Mood_20Ring_20Party_20Finder) is about you hearing abour a party but not it's location ..""How about a "find the party" service? Your host publicizes the date and time of the party, but not its location. Your task is to find the party using only a mood ring, which changes color to indicate how close you are. There's no directional advice, just "colder/warmer"."

The second one (http://www.partyfinder.com/index.php?fuseaction=&type=&city=Michigan--Saugatuck&dj=&month=&keyword=) which is a search engine where you put in your city, a DJ and a month, with a keyword, and it finds the event.. pretty much this would only be used for large events.. if there is a DJ involved.. my page is going to be about the non-commercialized party.. infact my page is almost a way to commercialize your event.

getting it into the air..

one thing i think would be a good idea.. is once i get a working page instead of trying to advertise on the internet, i will ask the presidents of clubs, or the frat house guys to try it out, post it to the forums on firstclass, and pretty much use the university as my guinnie pig. since this is the main location for events in this area, and if everyone is willing to use it, that should be a big enough audience for capstone.

Adding a thought

another thought to something that could be added to my site, as well as determining how far the event is that you want to hear, but also at what times.. that way people who go to bed at 9 don't have there cell phone chime for a text message at midnight. I don't think people would be happy with the site if it did.

similar site.. but wrong theme

Over the weekend i went to Connecticut, after telling my mother about my idea for the page, she told me that she is using a webpage the searches for jobs much like the site i'm going to be creating to search for events, i've asked her to e-mail me the URL of the site so i can possibly contact them and maybe get some coding. or if i can't get coding i can at least look at how they designed their site so when i design mine i can see what layouts work good and what i would need to change.
