1. Crosbie's article:
~ According to this article, my capstone is New Media. His idea of what a project must include to be considered New Media is it has to have individual messages that can be simultaneously given to an infinite amount of people. The works well with the text messaging system i want to create. His other idea was that each person should be able to control the content, because of how i was to make the profile page, where you can define how far you want to hear about it, what you want to hear about, and at what times, i think i have that covered in giving the users control, not to mention they can create their own event and post it.

~ I think Crosbie's ideas are a good start as to what a New Media project should be. But not all projects can be controlled by it's audiences or get out to a large number of people at once. So, it's a start, but i wouldn't categorize it as the set rules for New Media



2. Henry Jenkin's Article:
~ My New Media project doesn't agree with all of Henry's traits for New Media, but the ones it fits in the most is Appropriative, Networking, and Global. My project is Appropriative because anyone can create their own profile, their own events, they can choose what they want to hear about, it is completely to the user as to how this site will operate. My project is Networking because it is a social site where people can communicate through the events. And finally, my project is Global because any one in the wold that has a computer and internet can sign on.

~ Much like Crosbie's ideas, they 8 traits are a good place to start from, but not what should be focused on. I think the more rules you set on a New Media project the less it's New Media.
